It needs wiring. This is a mains light for AC 220–240 V that is hard-wired, with no plug, and it is an earthed Class I fitting, so it needs an earth connection. Have a qualified electrician connect it to an outdoor-rated supply and switch. The box contains the light and a set of fixing screws; the mains supply cable and junction box are not included.

It surface-mounts on a flat, level top at least 250 × 250 mm (9.8 × 9.8 in), such as a brick pier, pillar cap, wall top or ledge, and stands 150 mm (5.9 in) tall. It is not a post-top cap and does not slip over or into a post, so check the mounting surface is flat and level before an electrician fits it.
It gives 4000K neutral white light: crisper than a warm-white bulb, good for spotting steps and kerbs, yet soft because it washes down and out from all four sides under the overhanging top. Lit photos can look warmer on screen, but the LED is 4000K neutral white. It draws 10 W.
There is no bulb to change. The 10 W LED is integrated into the light, so there are no lamps to buy or replace, and the IP65 circuit unit stays sealed. If the light ever stops working, isolate the mains supply and ask an electrician to check the connection before anything else.
A solar light depends on how much daylight its panel catches, which is short in winter. This mains light is hard-wired at 220–240 V, so it gives the same 10 W of 4000K neutral white light every night it is switched on. The trade-off is installation: it needs a mains cable to the pillar and an electrician.
Isolate the mains supply before cleaning, then wipe the anthracite-grey housing and the glowing side panels with a soft damp cloth. Clearing leaves and cobwebs from under the overhanging top every few months keeps the four-sided glow even and the finish looking new.
