Embroidered. The whole portrait is worked in dense chain stitch, so the colours sit in raised thread you can feel, unlike a flat print. Embroidery gives the design texture and depth that a printed cover cannot, which is also why we recommend spot cleaning or a gentle hand wash in cold water.

Unzip and remove the cover before washing. Spot clean small marks, or hand wash the whole cover gently in cold water, which is kindest to the dense embroidery. Handle the stitched front gently while it is wet and refit it onto the cushion pad once it is dry.

The densely stitched front is made for everyday use on a sofa or bed, but sharp claws and small fingers can catch raised threads. Keep it up on furniture rather than on the floor, trim pets' claws, and spot clean spills promptly. The concealed zip lets you remove the cover when it needs a gentle cold hand wash.
